Evaluation

The first time we went to the location and filmed we only filmed the footage in one perspective and the notes we made that experience was to bring suitable SD Cards and make sure the SD cards are compatible with all equipment and to bring another light. The next time we filmed we filmed from many angles and used different lighting and we all brought SD cards so if we were in a scenario the SD cards weren't working we had spare. I am glad that we went for the first time as when we filmed again we were more prepared and as a result we got really good footage.

My overall thought of my final video is that I am proud of it as I already have pre experience of editing before I came on this course so this was a strong skill of mine. With the beginning of the scene I decided to include a wide shot for the viewers to see the surroundings of the detective and I started it with the viewers only seeing the setting and hearing the footsteps rather than them seeing the detectives straight away, which was to create emphasis. Then the next shot was an overhead shot; I chose the scene of Detective 2 using actions to demonstrate her feelings instead of just words and with the loudness of the clap was the correct decision for me to choose that. During that scene I shifted the focus to Detective 1 to show her reaction. When Detective 2 was talking about her emotions I selected the over the shoulder shot so the audience could see this whole scene from different angles. When we were filming I am very delighted with how we filmed the scenes with different angles so we could have a variety which resulted in when I was editing I could chose from a selection of shots.

When Detective 2 was going down the stairs I added some crazy music to mirror the mystery and insanity of the situation. I think this was a good addition to this scene for originality. Then I selected a close up shot of detective 2 when pushing the reporter to show the emotion of Detective 2 and have the perspective of what the reporter sees. Then I faded this shot and smoothly transitioned into the next scene with both of the detectives walking down the stairs. Whilst they were walking to the exit I used a medium shot and a close shot and then transitioned it back to medium shot. I did this instead of only choosing one shot for variety and I think it creates a more pleasant visual. At the end I included the shot of the door closing fully as it nicely ends the scene.
